Blogs require WORK

In my quest to remain "anonymous/unsearchable" I have discovered that I can't keep up with the cute names I have made for myself. It was easy at first because lord knows that I am the ONLY clever person in the word (ha ha) that thinks of silly nicknames... NOT. I have discovered that all my cute names are taken and I have to be more creative. Well now I have lost track of who I am where. I am sure I have my space, face book, yahoo, Google, MSN and AOL accounts but the only one I can remember is AOL. I can only find myself on this blog if I do a Google search for blogs. UGH. POOP POOP POOP... I have now had 3 phone calls in an hour and WHY DO I ANSWER? Just an interruption to my creative juice (or something like that).

Mom

Well I posted pictures of my daddy so now are a few of mom. They span 7o years (WOW). Like I said before I don't think of my parents as being old. They are so active and do so much around the house and for our family. Mom is a member of several clubs and has a full agenda every week. I really think she has more to do now that she is retired!

Brief history. She was born in 1936 at Crystal City, Texas, the “Spinach Capital of the World.” Mom was the crown bearer to the Queen of the Spinach Festival in 1940.
Grandma and grandpa moved back to Austin
during WWII and lived with my great-grandparents for a little while during the war. Grandpa volunteered for service and was given a honorable discharge after being injured.

My grandparents, mom and her siblings (1 sister and 2 brothers) moved to Kerby Lane in the 1940's.

Mom and dad were married in July 1956
and that makes 52 years this July . They moved into their first home on 45th street that year. I was born in 1963 and my brother arrived in 1965. I think I have the best mom in the universe. Mom and I go "shopping" every weekend (my oldest son and his girlfriend often tag along). She is a real trouper when it comes to doing things she really doesn't want to do but when she is ready to go you better follow her or you won't have a ride home (well we have never been left behind and I don't really think she would do that to us).
Here she is in the 70's, 80's and 2006.

DANG DANG DANG

I checked my post about 100 times and didn't see the bad grammar until it was "posted" ok said in the firstest postest that I am BAD. I guess I am not working hard enough to make my thoughts complete. OK can't be perfect when this is a bunch random junk. Will try to do better.

I might be hooked

Well I have to say this part is fun, I got my first comment (thanks Candy!). I have really enjoyed seeing other blogs and wish I could be as creative as the people that post them. What to post next!?!?!?!?! I have 6 years worth of digital pictures saved on my computer. So I could start at the very beginning (a very good place to start) but I would be here forever trying to blog about all that stuff. Should I pick the best of the best? I can't do that because I think they are all good! Should I be considerate and ask all my friends/family if it is OK to add their picture to this blog? Maybe so but then what would I post? Well I guess I will start with daddy. He was born in 1929 which makes him almost 80 years old. God I can't believe that. I never think of my parents being old really. They do so much. Daddy got a computer about 10 years ago and he knows more about creating movies, saving pictures and fixing problems than some of the students I work with. He absolutly loves making "movies." He makes the funniest things I have ever seen. His creativty is amazing. He finds the best "workarounds" I have ever seen. I have learned tons from him about creating slidshows from pictures. So for now I will post a few pictures of daddy and think about what to do next.

My first post

Well, this is my first blog post. I have no idea where this will go or if it will go at all. I day dream about having a blog that will be seen by TONS of people looking for information (from a person that has way bad grammar and can't spell) about things that I have done and places I have been but have no real education in. I hope to tickle a funny bone or inspire a craft creation (why not dream big). Currently I am working on a quilt (or 5). I really have only finished 3 quilts but have made at least 15 tops (you understand if you like to sew). I have made stuffed animals and dolls (mostly donated to the Anderson Mill Garden Club) because I just love to make things. I am not creative but I do follow instructions well. I am currently trying to decorate aprons for a craft sale, the problem is I am NOT creative so I am stuck with 6 white aprons that need "flair" and have no idea what to do. My husband and I love to go to Port Aransas for fun. We wish we could buy a vacation home there but we would have to work 5 jobs each to afford that and then we would not have time for a vacation so we just settle for visiting twice a year. I have 2 children (boys) that alternately give me the most pleasure in life and drive me crazy. Another family member is the dog (my only "girl") Cookie. She is 9 years old and thinks she is a queen. People don't understand how much a dog can be like a person until they live with one. Cookie has created her own schedule. She won't get out of her bed until I get out of bed. She waits for me to come home each day on the top of the sofa and will bark until I pet her. Then she wants a treat and will not leave me alone until I give her one. At 6pm every evening she wants my husband to sit outside with her so she will sit at his feet and look at him until he takes her into the back yard. Well I will try to post pictures of things I have made and pictures I have taken soon but don't hold your breath. I hope I will enjoy the process of keeping up with a blog and not think of it as a chore. We shall see.

About Me

My photo
I love to sew and that is about all I have to say about that. I am not creative but I can follow instructions so I love to re-create all sorts of things. If I am not spending time making "junk" I am hanging out with my family. I also love to take pictures. I will take hundreds of pictures at any event with the hope that I get best picture EVER! >ôô<
